As a Consultant, John is particularly interested in examining market trends, conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, devising audience development strategies, and designing successful community engagement tactics and metrics for nonprofit institutions. Before coming to AK Cultural Planning, John spent a year at the Swiss Institute supporting Communications, Curatorial, and Development activities, including digital strategy and grant-writing. John’s current projects include The Studio Museum in Harlem and the Rockwell Museum in Corning, NY.
He is also an independent curator, writer, and artist. Recently, he co-curated solo exhibitions “Antonia Wright: If I Had to Perish Twice” at SPRING/BREAK, New York, “It’s a BIRD, It’s a PLANE, IT’S THE YES MEN!!!” at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York, and collaborated on the sensorial public installation “Olfactive Attractions: The Hanging Eco-Portraits of Governor’s Island” New York. John holds a MA in Art Business with a concentration in Contemporary Art and Curatorial Studies from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York; and BA in Studio Art and Creative Writing from CUNY Hunter College, New York.
